The
Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is a programme under which member governments
offer scholarships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. The CSFP
was established at the first Commonwealth education conference in 1959 and is
reviewed by education ministers at their triennial meetings. CSFP
India gives Indians of high
academic caliber the chance to pursue their masters, doctorates and academic
and professional fellowship programmes in the UK . The programme is jointly managed
by the Association
of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) in the UK , the Ministry
of Human Resource Development (MHRD)
of the Government of India, the University
Grants Commission (UGC) and the British Council. Applications are
invited by the MHRD
for scholarships and the UGC for fellowships.
All
applicants must be Indian citizens and be aged 40 or below at the time of
application. They should also have completed their tertiary education in an
English medium institute. All candidates need to hold strong academic records
in their field of study.

forms can be downloaded online from the British Council India website. British
Council can also be approached for any help with the application process.
